Ayleshia and Sunil’s wedding is very special to me. It was my first Hindu packed wedding. Originally, when we were planning this wedding, Ayleshia was prepping me for a THREE HOUR CEREMONY! She was telling me that guests would traditionally just get up and chat to each other as the ceremony was going on and I was just shocked! This was something I had not experienced but I was excited to get into figuring out the intricacies of their culture and traditions.
And let me tell you, I was BLOWN AWAY. Their culture is so beautiful and it was such an honour to watch it all come together in this one perfect day.
We had beautiful Indian drummers that were so phenomenal and led the Groom’s procession as he entered. *I think everyone should adopt this! The Groom definitely deserves an entrance!* We had Ayleshia in an absolutely stunning pink Lehenga and dripping in gold jewellery that just complemented her and paid homage to her heritage. My favourite memory though is when the Bridesmaids hid the Grooms shoes (it’s traditional) and it’s customary for the Groomsmen to pay off the Bridesmaids for his shoes. Let’s just say the Groomsmen weren’t quite doing their task and the Groom ended up taking photos without his shoes!
Before I wrap this blog post up though, we have to talk about this beautiful car – the Camaro. Sunil built this himself for their wedding day and he even worked on it… the MORNING OF HIS WEDDING! He ended up being an hour late but it was all worth it. They got married and everything was right in the world.
