Vikram is actually my younger brothers’ friend from High School. He was this kid that came over a lot and played games with my brother whilst I was a brooding teenager, hermit-ing in my bedroom. But as we got older, we grew together and became crazy adults with jobs, pets and mortgages and I got to know him and Nic a lot more. I ended up really loving them and their love story. It was incredible to see them together and to see how much Vik had grown. Time just flies! So when they asked me to be their Wedding Planner, I was so incredibly thrilled and honoured to say YES!
For this wedding, we wanted to honour both Vik’s Indian roots and Nic’s Italian culture. It was very important to them to symbolise their union with the crossing of cultures. So we had a Cannoli tower (instead of a cake), we had colourful flowers for the tablescape with gold and navy blue accents and we had native Australian florals (a small nod to Australia). This wedding was all about being a blended union which was apparent in every detail.
